Patroling is the physical visit by a person to check on a site or premise.
Responding is the physical visit as a result of an alarm activation or instruction to attend.
Patrolling and responding both involve checking a premise to ensure that it is secure. This is mainly during times of inactivity and non occupation and often at nighttime.
The patrol is designed to occur randomly and at a set number of times during night time or daytime as instructed. The random nature of the patrol reduces possibility of the patrol person being timed by anyone aiming to invade the site.
The key to patrolling and Responding is the communication with the client.
The client should be spoken to and emailed every time an incident occurs and on a regular basis to ensure they are confident their premise is being cared for as instructed.
This may involve GPS systems, internet reporting, digital reporting, and manual reporting systems.
Regardless the client should be contacted regularly to be kept up to date on the patrol person's visits and anything that is relevant to the clients premise and business.
